As 2024 gets started, we want to highlight some of the work our teammates did in 2023. We especially want to highlight some of the work our teammates did with noble causes in their communities over the holiday season. We worked with a variety of non-profit organizations who are doing amazing work throughout Virginia and beyond. Here is a list of just some of the great organizations we worked with:
- Our Customer Sales and Service team volunteered with Housing Families First, a Richmond nonprofit dedicated to solving family homelessness in the region.
- 17 teammates volunteered for a Junior Achievement Finance Park event to help teach students about solid financial practices.
- Our Middleburgh branch collected donations for the Windy Hill Foundation, which helps with homelessness in the area.
- In Culpeper, our local branch collected more than 500 pounds of donations for the Culpeper Food Closet.
- The Reston office had a toy drive for Northern Virginia Family Services, an organization that works with individuals and families to help them create paths for self-sustainability and success.
- Our BUILD (Black teammates United in Leadership and Development) Employee Resource Group partnered with Community Transformers for an annual Thanksgiving meals drive.
- The Ladysmith Branch organized an angel tree to benefit the Caroline Animal Shelter – and made one of the largest donations for the year!
- Almost 200 pounds of food were donated to the Food Bank of the Albemarle by the Elizabeth City Main branch in North Carolina.
We thank all of our teammates for their hard work and dedication to the world around them. And, most importantly, we thank all of the non-profits we have worked with and who work year-round to make our communities better!
