On the first weekend in December, many Atlantic Union Bank (AUB) teammates came together in their local communities to spread cheer to start off the holiday season. AUB proudly sponsored floats in three different parades because it’s important to us to show our community how much we care. We want to meet our customers where they are, out at the events that make the holiday season so special for everyone.
In Chesapeake, we participated in the 40th annual Chesapeake Rotary Christmas Parade. The theme was “Christmas Candy Land,” and all the floats were decorated using the sweetest treats they could find. Since we couldn’t load our branch onto a trailer to show it off for the parade, we created a gingerbread version to bring the branch to the community! Accompanied by teammates from our local market, as well as our candy king and queen, we marched in the parade to ensure a bright kick-off to the holiday season. Plus, AUB hosted a tent along the parade route where community members could get candy and popcorn to enjoy while watching the floats go by.
Up in Middleburg, AUB teammates were once again thrilled to participate in their “Christmas in Middleburg” Parade. Our fox hunt-themed float pays homage to the local fox-hunting traditions of Middleburg. Despite a rainy building process on Friday while hunkered under our drive through canopy, the skies smiled on the parade itself, leading to a great start to the holiday season. Our teammates had a great time walking in the parade while passing out goodies to people along the route. It was rewarding to bring the holiday spirit out of the branch and into the local community!
In Richmond, Atlantic Union Bank was proud to sponsor the final float of the Christmas parade, featuring the Children’s Museum Legendary Santa. Children and adults alike were thrilled to see Santa cap off the parade. He was his jolly old self, and appreciated the chance to see the Richmond community come out to get the holiday season started off right! Plus, he was joined by the Children’s Museum’s Snow Queen to bring holiday cheer to the children of Richmond. Walking along Santa’s float were a variety of AUB helpers spreading Christmas cheer to all along the parade route.
Holiday parades are a great tradition throughout the commonwealth. Getting to participate and ensuring these important traditions continue is an honor for all of us here at AUB. We wish all people a safe and happy holiday season!
